Yolanda Adams-Day By Day

yolanda adams
Grammy Award winning, Yolanda Adams, is back with her highly anticipated album “Day By Day”. Yolanda is one of my favorite artists not only because of her gorgeous voice but because of the sincerity and love that shines through so clearly in every note that she sings. This 12-track CD is great from start to finish. It is definite treat for fans and should also gain Yolanda new listeners from all Christian music genres.

The CD opens up strong with Yolanda singing the Gregory Curtis produced “Victory” over super tight beats. Gregory is also known for writing Yolanda’s hits “Just A Prayer Away” and “Believe”. This song is also featured in the film “The Gospel Movie”.

This album is filled with songs that speak of God’s love, having faith and seeing yourself through the loving eyes of God. Adams has the unparalleled ability to make her listeners feel what she is feeling. This gift really showcases itself on “Someone Watching Over You” and “Be Blessed”. These two songs are favorites of mine because of the simplicity of the message and the beautiful delivery. They are even more poignat because of the upheaval so many are experiencing from the Gulf Coast hurricanes, the war in Iraq and our everyday life and struggles. These songs remind us that God is always looking out for us and He really does want us to have his best. “Be Blessed” is a beautiful song where Adams is saying that she understands that we all go through trials but her prayer is that we are blessed in abundance. Her sincerity and genuine love for her listeners once again shines clearly on this track. I love this song!

Be Blessed

Too many storms have passed your way
And you’re all washed out ‘cause it rained on your parade
Seems nobody cares about you anyway
Now you’re living your life like a castaway
Search for strength inside
Was it all in vain ‘cause the deeper you dig you find more and more pain
Don’t let your tomorrow be like yesterday
‘Cause I spoke to God
I called out your name
And on your behalf I just asked
If He would be there for you

I want you to
Be Blessed
Don’t live life in distress
Just let go let God
He’ll work it out for you
I pray that your soul will be blessed
Forever in His hands
For you deserve His best no less

Enter a place where you never have to cry
Never have to live a lie
Never have to wonder why
Never want for nothin’ you’re always satisfied
In the peace that His arms will provide
He will erase any guilt or shame
Any bad habits you got you won’t wanna do them again
Yes we all can change I can testify
See I spoke to God
I called out your name
And on your behalf I just asked
If He would be there for you

I want you to
Be Blessed
Don’t live life in distress
Just let go let God
He’ll work it out for you
I pray that your soul will be blessed
Forever in His hands
For you deserve His best no less

My prayer for you today
You trust and always obey
On his name keep calling
He’ll keep you from fallin’
He’ll supply the answers
If you stand in faith and trust Him to make a way

I want you to
Be Blessed
Don’t live life in distress
Just let go let God
He’ll work it out for you
I pray that your soul will be blessed
Forever in His hands
For you deserve His best no less

You’ve been through so much
Be Blessed from the bottom of your feet to the crown of your head
Your life Be Blessed
Your family Be Blessed
Your finances Be Blessed
Everything about you
Give it to Jesus….

After a 3-year period in the late 90’s, gospel music’s most glorious event returns to Nashville, TN January in 2006. The 21st Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards will once again grace the stage of the historic Grand Old Opry on January 21. For the past 2 years, this star-studded celebration has been held in Houston, Texas, but increasing needs for a bigger and a more production friendly facility eventually led to one of the music industry’s most famous venues.
“I am extremely excited about the opportunity we have once again to produce the Stellar Awards in Nashville at the Grand Old Opry, which is one of the best production facilities in the country for major award shows like the Stellar Awards,” explains Don Jackson, CEO of Central City Productions. “I am also most appreciative of the fine support we received from the City of Houston Texas, which was the home for the Stellar Awards for the past two years. The community of Houston was a tremendous fan of the Stellar Awards; however we needed a better production facility in which to produce our show. The Grand Old Opry production venue in Nashville provides us with the top of the line facilities which will enable us to continue the high production quality that Gospel Music deserves.”

Gospel artists CeCe Winans, Vicki Winans and Israel will serve as co-hosts for the 2006 awards ceremony. Nominees and performers will be announced in November at the annual press conference which will be held in Nashville, TN. More information on the press conference’s date, location will be announced in the near future.
