Steve & Da\

THE MUSIC: Praise and worship was led this week by the dynamic duo that is Steve and Da’dra. They are a great addition to the praise and worship team because they blend in so well with Cindy, Israel and the choir. It was great to see them together on the stage this week. They have such great chemistry together. I guess it comes from singing together for so long as brother and sister team Anointed. Their energy was off the chart. Steve was jumping around the stage & Da’dra’s ponytail was swinging! It was a great time praising God.

Songs performed were “All About You”, “Favor” and “Rejoice”. Favorites of mine, “Mighty to Save” and “At The Cross” were also sung. We were blessed with a great song by Lakewood’s Children’s Choir. They performed a song entitled “Hallejulah”. They were so cute in their black and purple. The lead singer did a great job. You would think he would be nervous in front of so many people, but he did a great job.

THE MESSAGE:
Scripture Reference: Psalm 68
Subject: How to Put Fear Behind You

Sermon Synopsis: Lakewood’s Spanish Pastor, Marcos Witt, was the speaker for this week. He is a favorite of both the English and Spanish congregations. He is very illustrative, passionate and always full of laughter. He spoke this week about dealing with fear. He said we all deal with fear in one way or another. He said the devil wants fear to keep people in bondage and away from the promised land. God doesn’t want to you live in fear. Fear is an enemy of God.

He preached from Psalm 68, and focused on the first line that states “Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered.” He said that the devil is a defeated foe, he is under our feet. God will arise over fears, phobias, troubled marriages, financial trouble or whatever trials you have in your life. It does not matter what you are going through, when you send a shout up to God He will stand up and His enemies will scatter.

**Of course, this is only a very short summary of Pastor Witt’s sermon. He is such a dynamic preacher, I did more listening and laughing than writing. He had great illustrations, told great jokes, favored us with his Grammy Award singing and just gave a great sermon. THE ATMOSPHERE: It was great to hear from Paul Osteen and Lisa Comes this week. I don’t get to hear from them that often because I don’t get a chance to go to weekday services.

……..and that is what happened in my church this week. What was it like in your church this week? The entire universe is filled with God’s love and grace. We would love to hear about your church service. Post a comment or e-mail me at dominique@1800gospel.com and tell us all about the music, the message and the atmosphere at your church.
