THE MUSIC: It was like a concert for our risen Savior!! The worship team, choir and band all sounded wonderful! Everyone appreciates their dedication and the excellence that they continually bring. The commitment they have to “making God’s praise glorious” is apparent and made Easter service that much more enjoyable.
Cindy, Israel, Da’dra and Steve led worship this week. Violinist Christa Black also lent her beautiful styling to the service. Worship started with Israel’s “We Have Overcome” from his upcoming live CD. Other songs performed were “For All You’ve Done”, “My Savior Lives” and “Agnus Dei”. A favorite of mine, “Mighty to Save” was also sung.
The excellence of the worship team was most apparent during “He Lives” and “Redemption Day”. The video montage playing during these two songs was a beautiful touch and the lyrics really personified the spirit of the celebration of the resurrection of Christ. The songs remind us that we celebrate Resurrection Day because Jesus conquered the grave, covered our sins and allows His spirit to live in us.

Subject: Living a Life of Total Victory
Sermon Synopsis: Pastor Joel spoke this week about living the life of total victory that Christ died for us to have. He said that Jesus died for us to enjoy a life of abundance and total victory. He urged everyone to take hold of all that Christ lived and died for. He said to be totally free you have to stir your faith up. He invited everyone to imagine how God must feel when we live our lives in mediocrity after what he sacrificed for us.
Pastor Joel said we have to realize that the price has already been paid for our freedom. You have to know that you have a right to be free and then you need to see yourself as free. Be convinced deep down inside that you can overcome. Pastor Joel reminded everyone that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us. That power enables us to overcome wrong thinking, lack, poverty, sickness and disease and others things that keep us from our best.
Take a step of faith and believe that God will help you to overcome. Many people are waiting on God, but God is waiting on us. Get a new image of yourself on the inside. Remember that you are the seed of Abraham, and therefore able to claim a part in his inheritence. If we would understand our position, we could change our condition. It does not matter what family you come from, you are still a child of the most high God. God has given you the power to change your condition and live a life of abundance.

THE ATMOSPHERE: Easter weekend is very important to Christians because it is what our faith is built on. We believe that Jesus died on the cross for our salvation. He conquered death so that we could have a live of abundance in all things. The atmosphere this weekend was one of excitement, joy and hope for the future. The sanctuary was full (that’s a lot of people!) and Pastor Joel’s message of victory was a blessing to all present.
