It was great to see the entire worship team of Cindy, Israel, Steve & Da’dra together again. As usual, they sounded great! I really enjoyed the new song, “Love So Amazing”. It was beautifully sung and the lyrics touching. God’s love for us really is amazing, it’s the kind of love that we don’t have to do anything to receive. As it says in the song, that love is “strong and true, rich and pure, and complete”. To hear the worship team sing this awesome song head over to Faith Based Blog.

THE MESSAGE:
Scripture Reference: Colossians 3:2
Subject: Getting Rid of Negative Mindsets

Quick Notes From The Sermon:
Pastor Joel gave a great sermon this week about negative mindsets and how to get rid of them. He said that we all have core thoughts about how we think about ourselves. These thoughts are how we see ourselves on a daily basis. Your thoughts are what keep you in mediocrity. If we are going to have a life of victory, our anchor thoughts have to be positive.

Pastor Joel advised everyone to pay close attention to their thoughts and speak words of faith. He said the best way to replace negative thoughts with positive ones is to dwell on the positive and to meditate on what God says about you. We have all been programmed for victory. First thing in the morning, set your mind in the right direction. Say things like, this is going to be a great day today, I am blessed in the Lord and I am the head and not the tail. If you don’t set your mind first thing in the morning, the enemy will set it for you.

Pastor Joel said that we don’t have to dwell on every thought that comes into our minds. He said that we choose what thoughts we think. If you are not disciplined in your thought life, you won’t live a life of victory. Get your thoughts going in the right direction, and you will live a live of victory.

THE ATMOSPHERE:  The Church Report has released this year’s 50 Most Influential Churches in America report and Lakewood has come in at number seven.  I think it’s great the influence that Lakewood, along with the others on the list, has in the world. I was recently reminded of the fact that there are still many, many people that need to be told of God’s love for them. There is still a lot of work to be done.

….and that is what happened in my church this weekend. What was it like in your place of worship this week? The entire universe is filled with God’s love and grace. We would love to hear about your church service. Post a comment or e-mail me at dominique@1800gospel.com and tell us all about the music, the message and the atmosphere at your church.
