A Brand New Day
“The truth is, God wants intimacy. He’s not interested in your money or garments.
The music is a vehicle to bring you in. You worship with your heart.
The songs I sing in many ways edify God. It’s all about love.”
Jonathan Butler

DeWayne Woods-Let Go, Let God

Prayer: God, I thank You that I can trust You in all things and that You are perfecting everything that is of concern to me. I commit to live my life free from worry and I cast all of my insecurities, all my anxieties and all my fears on You once and for all. I thank You that Your love, grace and mercy towards me allows me to put my total trust in You. Thank You, God, in Jesus name. Amen.

PLACE: Lakewood Church-Houston, Tx
Joel Osteen, Pastor

DATE: Saturday, August 4, 2007
TIME: 7:00 p.m.

THE MUSIC:
Worship Team: Cindy Ratcliff, Steve Crawford, Da’dra Crawford Greathouse, Choir & Band
Songs: He Reigns, Again I Say Rejoice, Free For All, Love So Amazing, At The Cross, Say The Name, Mighty To Save, Free To Worship

Loved the worship service this week! I’m so excited I will be talking about the end from the beginning. The last song sung was a newly introduced song entitled “Free To Worship”. It was written by Da’dra and Israel and based on Ephesians 2:13. It was inspired by a sermon given by Lakewood’s Lisa Comes. It has the classic “Lakewood Sound” to it and was well received by the audience. It tells of being totally free to worship God because of grace and forgiveness. A part of the lyric that spoke to me said, “when I made mistakes/I thought You’d turn away/but now I know/You have redeemed me by grace/the distance has been erased”. You can visit Faith Based Blog to hear this great song.

I also enjoyed “Say The Name”. This song reminds me that I can call on Jesus when I’m overwhelmed with ”life stuff” and don’t know which way to turn. The chorus of the song says it all: “when you don’t know what else to pray/when you can’t find the words to say/when you can’t make it through another day/say the name”. Pretty powerful stuff.
