The thing I love about praise and worship music is that each time you hear it you get something new from it. You can hear something that seems like it is meant just for you. I’ve heard Cindy singing “Still Standing” many times, but the following portion spoke to me:
“To You I lift my offering,
And set my heart on higher things,
Cause if it had not been for You,
Standing on my side where would I be?”
“Setting your heart on higher things” reminded me to not get so caught up in all the little pesky things of everyday life. Those little things can weigh you down and keep your mind from what is truly important. Pastor Joel preaches every week about not living frustrated, keeping your hopes up and believing God for the best. Setting your heart on higher things can help you live a life free of worry, lack, fear and hurriedness. What is on the heart of God? What is He concerned about? What does it mean to you to set your heart on higher things?
“Free to Worship” led by Da’dra ties in to what I was writing about earlier. When you set aside all the “unnecessary fluff stuff”, you are free to worship God totally. You can ask God to draw you close so you can worship with your entire soul. Lakewood favorite, Carrie Hodge, sung “Revelation Song” with her husband and a couple of others. Excellent as always. 1. I highly recommend Israel and New Breed’s new CD, Live A Deeper Level. It’s aweseome! My little ones loved it too. I enjoyed the entire CD, but some songs really stood out for me. I really liked ”With Long Life” (featuring T-Bone), “Surely Surely” (featuring YPJ) and “Say So”. Deeper Prayer with Darlene Zschech (love the Australian accent!) was very inspiring.
The live recording was captured during three nights of worship at Grace Church in Houston, Tx. To get prepared for the release, Israel and New Breed fasted 40 days petitioning God. The result is this awesome album that takes all who listen to a deeper level in worshipping God. Click quick and get your copy! You will be glad you did.
