THE MESSAGE:

Scripture References:1 Thessalonians 5:11, Proverbs 12:25
Subject: Being a People Builder

Quick Notes From The Sermon: Being a people builder means that you invest in others and you build up their confidence and encourage them to do their best. None of us will reach our highest potential by ourselves. We all should have someone we are encouraging and building up. Study them and you will see something in them that they don’t think they have. Pastor Joel said that it was amazing what a simple word of encouragement can do. Your words can be the seed that someone needs to fulfull their destiny. Don’t be so focused on yourself and your goals that you don’t reach out to others.

Everyone needs to be feel valued and appreciated. Are you believing in someone? Listen to their dreams and goals. We all should be someone’s number one fan. Pastor Joel advised everyone to look past what a person is and see what they can become. When you believe in others, they will rise to your expectations. Don’t withhold your blessings and be free with complements. It takes little effort and can mean so much to someone. The encouraging words that you speak are not merely words, but they are encouragement that will be remembered for a lifetime.

Pastor Joel said that we all have people in our lives that we can bless and push to new levels. When you bring out the best in others you will also bring out the best in yourself. Pastor Joel encouraged everyone to write down the names of four people that we could encourage and the actions we would take to help them bring out their best.

**These are my quick notes from the sermon. To get the full effect you can watch this service and other archived services at Lakewood’s website or Pastor Joel’s website. THE ATMOSPHERE:
There is always an air of expectation at Lakewood. Pastor Joel and Victoria talked about expecting God to do great things in our lives. They said that God was longing to be good to those that seek Him.

My vision for Notes From My Church is for others to share what is going on in their church services. I would love to hear what is going on in other places of worship. Let’s all share and encourage each other. It doesn’t have to be long, fancy, or perfect. Just place it in the following format: The Music, The Message, The Atmosphere and e-mail it to me at dominique@1800gospel.com. I’m looking forward to hearing from you! Thanks!
