Thanks to several members of Congress, September has been designated as Gospel Music Heritage Month. 1800Gospel.com encourages everyone to celebrate by attending Gospel events, learning and reading about the rich history of Gospel music, and purchasing Gospel music products.

"Gospel music is an historical American art form that has spanned hundreds of generations and both inspires and entertains across racial, ethnic, religious, and geographic boundaries. We must officially recognize the great contributions to American culture that have derived from the rich heritage of gospel music and its artists."-Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee
