Public Memorial for Hudson Family Members on Sunday
There will be a public memorial service for Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew on Sunday, November 2nd from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist Church. Jennifer and Julia are not expected to attend.
A Hudson family representative released the following statement: "The Hudson family welcomes anyone who wishes to attend and pay their respects to these three beloved members of the Chicago community."

Mary Mary Tops Billboard Charts for The Sound
Congrats to my girls Mary Mary (Erica & Tina) for topping Billboard’s Top Gospel & Christian charts for their new Gospel music project, The Sound . The new album has the week’s third highest debut behind AC/DC and the soundtrack for High School Musical 3 .
The lead single, "Get Up", which I like a lot, is getting a lot of airplay at CHR radio. It’s played a lot in the morning-I guess to get everybody up and moving. This project is more contemporary than their other projects, and I feel that it will make a great impact in both the gospel and secular arenas. I like the fact that although they are pushing the envelope for Gospel music they remain true to their faith and beliefs.
What do you think about Mary Mary’s new direction? There has been a bit of controversy about the album cover. Do you think its a bit much for a Gospel Music cover?

Funeral Services Announced for Hudson Family Members
According to the Chicago Sun-Times , a private memorial service will be held for Jennifer Hudson’s family members on Monday morning. It will be for invited guests only. The service will be held at the Apostolic Church of God on Dorchester.
Hudson’s mother, Darnell Donerson, 57, and brother, Jason Hudson, 29, were shot and killed Friday morning at their Englewood home. Julian King, the 7-year-old son of Jennifer Hudson’s sister, Julia, was found dead Monday morning in Jason Hudson’s SUV, which was taken from the home.
Julia Hudson’s estranged husband, William Balfour, 27, has been named a person of interest in the slayings. He is being jailed on a probation violation. He has not been charged in the shootings.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for contributions to a newly created Hudson-King Domestic Violence Protection Fund, care of Seaway Bank and Trust, P.O. Box 19522, Chicago, IL, 60619.
There no word yet on a public service. Our prayers are with the family during this difficult time.
Gospel Music on Guitar Hero?? I Hope So!!
My son really loves Guitar Hero and rushes to play the demos whenever we are in any of the toy stores. It’s great to read that the Christian Rock Band Kutless will have a track featured on Rock Band 2 that will be available November 4th. Hopefully that means that Gospel music will be getting their turn soon.
Would love to hear him playing Israel & New Breed, Mary Mary, Lecrae, or Jason Champion instead of some of the other stuff.
