Bishop Paul S. Morton-Cry Your Last Tear
Nashville, TN- Bishop Paul Morton and the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship Mass Choir unveil CRY YOUR LAST TEAR (Tehillah Music Group/Light Records), released October 28. The live taping took place at the Full Gospel Baptist Fellowship Convention in Birmingham, AL this past June and features the 100 plus member aggregation along with special appearances by Bishop Clarence E. McClendon, Bishop Larry L. Brandon, Bishop Joseph W. Walker, Bishop Rudolph W. McKissick, Jr, Bishop Lester Love, Stephanie Dotson and Melinda Watts, 2004 and 2008 Gospel Dream winner (respectively).
Reminiscent of the powerful anointing the 2003 release of LET IT RAIN issued, CRY YOUR LAST TEAR is filled with emotion and overwhelming praise that will touch every type of worshiper. Under the direction of the Minister of Music General Overseer Pastor William H. Murphy III and produced by Trenton Phillips, and Morton’s son-in-law, Elvin Ross, the 19 track album spreads the message of glory, blessings, and seeking God first.
Starting with an introduction by Bishop Clarence McClendon where he exhorts “there is no place like the sound of praise…we are in pursuit of His glory.” The glory theme makes a consistent appearance throughout the album including worship tracks “Show Us Your Glory” and “O The Glory”, up-tempo “Get The Glory”, and praise induced “In Pursuit of Your Glory”.
“Chasing After You”, “Wonderful God” and “I Am What You See” usher in the title track, penned by Vashawn Mitchell, where Morton’s trademark passionate vocals take the project to another level. “You’ve been searching for an answer / needing a solution / but your life is in His hands / so don’t you worry just pray / watch God make a way / cry your last tear / it’s gonna be alright.” Ending with a reprise of Pastor Marvin Winans “Ain’t No Need To Worry” adds a traditional element.
