BET Has Announced 2009 Celebration of Gospel Host
BET has announced that the host of the 2009 Celebration of Gospel will be Steve Harvey. The show will air on January 25th and will feature Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin, Smokie Norful, Hezekiah Walker, and many others.
I’m looking forward to the show, but like some of the commenters on BET’s board I would like to see a wider variety of Gospel artists. A mix of the stars and up and coming artists would be nice. Also, some that we don’t see a lot of like Israel Houghton, Kim Burrell, Niyoki , Lecrae, Da Truth, or James Fortune would also be nice.

I would like to have contact information for Mr. (DJ) Wayne Julius Rogers. He is my all time favorite male vaocalist. The most profound statement I have ever heard was: “I sing songs to get people from Mondat to Tuesday. If you talk about the problem then you are obligated to find a solution.” Say You Love Me, Love Brough Me Back and Beulah Jean are probably the the geratest song of my life time. I was elated beyond description when he appeared on the awards show. I was disappointed that he and Rance Allen were given a bit more time.
