Gospel Music Artist Israel Houghton To Be Featured on Gospel Music Channel’s Revealed

If you want to know more about Gospel music artist Israel Houghton be sure to tune in to Revealed on April 25th on the Gospel Music Channel. The show will give viewers a chance to learn more about Israel and the motivation behind his music.

Israel says he was particularly excited about the audience reaction when he performed the title track of his new album, The Power of One. “There was something about it,” he sighs. “You could feel the sense of ‘Okay, I’m going to get involved’ kind of rising up in the room. The more it was sung, the more people just felt like ‘Okay, I can be a part of changing the world, just by changing my world, just by changing my perspective!’”

Houghton sees the song as a call to action and a reminder that one person can make a significant difference in the world. “I shared the story of my mom,” he says. “Somebody shared the gospel with her on a street corner in San Diego, California. Just by crossing that uncomfortable line and crossing the street many years ago, they literally changed her world, changed her life by an act of kindness and just taking the time to love on her and share the gospel with her. My life and the world has been changed as a result of that moment.” Source

Houghton’s newest solo album, The Power of One, was released on March 24th and debuted at #1 on the gospel music charts. He has won six Dove Awards, two Grammys, two Stellars, a Soul Train Award, and has two gold records. Houghton currently leads worship two weekends a month at Lakewood Church in Houston, and is excited about a new New Breed gospel music CD to be released this summer.
