According to the Malaco blog, BeBe and CeCe Winans will be hitting the tour circuit with Jonathan Butler and their brother Marvin Winans. The tour kicks off October 30 in Cincinnati and wraps up November 29th in Oakland, CA.
BeBe & CeCe are keeping busy! Their new gospel song “Close to You” is getting great reviews and they seem to be having a fun time keeping us gospel fans informed through twitter. Their new album, Still, drops on October 6th.
One of my fav Jonathan Butler gospel songs is “Falling in Love With Jesus”. According to a CBN interview, Jonathan Butler grew up poor in South Africa but figured out early in life that he had a gift for music. He signed his first contract with Zomba in South Africa at 12 years old. He grew up during apartheid and was the first black person played on white radio. But fame cost him dearly. He turned to drugs and was a drug addict at 15 years old. The rest of the article talks about how one of his fans introduced him to Jesus and one night he was instantaneously delivered from drugs, anger and depression.
