From Johnson Publishing/Jet Magazine: BeBe and CeCe Winans pick up right where they left off 15 years ago with their uplifting reunion CD, Still. Their cool, contemporary gospel sound has always reached listeners right where they are. Although they may face controversy because their music may not use the names of God and Jesus, the singing duo believes their music reaches those who might not make it to church on Sunday morning. “When we first came out, people thought we were too secular,” CeCe recalls. “But there are a lot of hymns that don’t say Lord or Jesus and you know what they are talking about.”
Gospel vs. Inspirational Music – The Great Debate
Is there a difference between gospel and inspirational music? Jet caught up with artists Fred Hammond, Tye Tribbett, Shirley Caesar and Donald Lawrence to get their take on the matter. “Gospel music points you in the direction of God. Inspirational reaches out man to man,” said Hammond.

When you listen to BeBe & CeCe’s new gospel music album you are instantly drawn in by the lushness of the music and the simple, but straight to the heart lyrics. Their music really does meet people where they are in life and allows God to do the rest. That’s all good gospel music needs to do.
