The Black Gospel Blog gives Vanessa Bell Armstrong’s new gospel music album five out of five stars. That’s pretty much perfect!! lol Anybody got the CD? What’s your favorite gospel song on the album? I would have to say mine is “You Bring Out The Best in Me”.
If you didn’t catch the much talked about TBN episode with Steve Harvey, it is scheduled to air again on Friday, October 30th. Gospel music artist Donnie McClurkin will also be hosting Vanessa Bell Armstrong and Melinda Watts. If I remember correctly Melinda Watts sung the gospel song “Purpose Driven Live” which I thought was just awesome.
The gospel music store God’s World in Detroit has fallen on hard times and the gospel music community pitched in to help. There was a fundraising concert on Saturday, October 24th at Rev. J. Drew Sheard’s church, Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church of God in Christ. The concert featured gospel music artists such as the Clark Sisters, Rance Allen Group, LaShell Griffin, Ben Tankard, and many others. I wonder if they raised enough money to save the store…….
Before BeBe & CeCe Winans sung the hit gospel song “Grace” live on Oprah on Friday, there was a guest on whose story was a perfect example of what the grace of God is all about. On October 19, 2009, what seemed like a normal day at an Indianapolis cash advance store became the true test of faith and a modern day example of grace. Montez was working when Smith entered the store, climbed over the counter and stuck a gun in her face.
When she began to cry, the tide turned. Montez told Smith not to throw away his life and then began to pray. Soon after Smith also dropped to his knees and prayed with her for ten minutes. After hugging Montez, Smith then fled the store. While appearing on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Smith stated that when he talked to Montez, he felt as though he was talking directly to “the Man upstairs.”
