BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc) will honor gospel music greats Donnie McClurkin and Andrae Crouch for the 2010 BMI Trailblazer Awards. They will be honored at the 11th Annual Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards Luncheon to be held on January 15, 2010. The invitation only ceremony will take place one day before the Stellar Awards and will be at Rocketown in Nashville. Attending the luncheon will be some of gospel music’s most premier songwriters, recording artists and gospel executives.

Our condolences go out to the family of Dr. Oral Roberts. Dr. Roberts passed away on December 15, 2009 at the age of 91 due to complications from pneumonia. He was one of the most influential Christian leaders of the 20th century and the founder of Oral Roberts University. He is largely credited with laying the foundation for what we now call the prosperity gospel.

The Blind Boys of Alabama will be performing in a gospel Christmas music concert at Orchestra Hall in Minnesota tonight, December 16, 2009 at 7:30. Tickets are $22-$45. The performance will be sans lead singer and founding member Clarence Fountain who left the group to record with another former Blind Boys of Alabama member, Sam Butler. Welp…………..I guess the show goes on.

Bishop Brian David Moore, pastor of Life Center Cathedral Church in North Charleston, was arrested on 12/10/09 for possession of marijuana. Check out the three arrests at arrest inquiry-there is one felony and two misdemeanor’s. SMH
