Jermaine Sellers Sent Home

Unfortunately former Sunday Best contestant Jermaine Sellers was voted off American Idol last week. In an interview with USA Today, he said that he let fear conquer him.

Q: Could you expand on that, letting fear conquer you? Has that happened to you before?

A: I’ve always sang in church. I did a lot growing up, Royal Caribbean Cruise line, the whole nine yards.

But when you’re there, you’re scared of what the judges would say. You’d lose focus. And I’m pulling back, I took a lot of runs out, I took a lot of risks out, and they say the same thing. And it’s like, well, God, it’s just not in your will.

I want to thank all of you for your support. If I could say anything to the younger people who are going to try out, know this: The sky is the limit. And God has a purpose. And everything has a season. And no matter how hard you struggle, you’ve got to know … there is a reward at the end.-Jermaine Sellers
