Mary Mary to appear at Lenox Tree Lighting along with Scotty McCreery and Melanie Moore

The Lenox Square 64th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting will be held on Thanksgiving, November 24th from 7 pm to 8 pm. in Buckhead.

The all-star lineup of performers include Scotty McCreery, the winner of this year’s American Idol, award winning gospel music duo Mary Mary and the winner of this past season’s So You Think You Can Dance, Melanie Moore.

Also appearing will be Macy’s All-Star Holiday Choir with a special appearance from Timothy Miller, a tenor from the Atlanta Opera.

According to the news release, the tree will be a 60-foot white pine that is approximately 26 years old and weight 11,000 pounds. It will glow with 100 Macy’s stars, 100 white snowflakes and 1,200 multi-colored metallic basketball-sized ornaments. The giant tree will have 50 flashing strobe lights, 400 internally lit ornaments, 4,000 11-watt bulbs and will be topped with a color-changing Macy’s star. The tree will have 8.2 miles of circuit wiring throughout.

The tree lighting will be followed by a fireworks finale. If you are not able to attend you can watch the live broadcast on WSB-TV.
