According to Kristin Foster, Whitney Houston’s publicist, Whitney was found and pronounced dead at the Beverly Hills Hilton on Saturday afternoon (February 11, 2011). No cause of death has been revealed. Whitney was 48 years old.
This is very hard for me to write. I’ve been reading a lot of reports about Whitney’s death but couldn’t bring myself to write my own blog post. I still can’t believe it.
The first thing I thought about was her daughter, Bobbi Kristina. I lost my mother–to lose someone that close to you is the worst kind of pain.
Many of us have watched Whitney from the very beginning of her career. Her voice was unparallelled.
So many memories—all the hit songs especially “I Will Always Love You,” the hit movies, her version of the National Anthem, her marriage to Bobby Brown, the birth of Bobbi Kristina, the TV interviews and the excitement she caused whenever she appeared.
Even with all her public struggles the only thing that resonates with me is her talent. I pray that she is at peace now. Please continue to pray for her daughter, mother and her family and friends.Follow 1-800Gospel on Twitter at @GospelMusic and like us on Facebook!
