Did you watch The Song That Changed My Life with Marvin Sapp on GMC on Saturday? It was the story of Yolanda Bennett, a former hairdresser and mother whose life was transformed by Sapp’s 2007 hit single “Never Would Have Made It.”
As the show emphasized, it really is amazing how much power a song can have in your life. Yolanda was in a deep, deep depression after the deaths of both her husband and father within a two year time span.
Even though “Never Would Have Made It” was a mega hit long before she heard it, God chose the right time for her to hear it. After she heard it she stopped taking all the meds she was taking cold turkey. The song was the catalyst for complete and utter change in her life.
I’m sure the show will replay at some point on GMC. Be sure to watch it when it does!

“I want people to understand that you can get through things and move on and have a happier life,” Bennett says.
Sapp, who is the pastor at Lighthouse Full Life Center Church in Grand Rapids, Mich., adds, “I never understood the power of a song until this experience. The fact that something so little can impact somebody so much, I’m astounded and thankful.”
