“I was pleasantly surprised. It is predominantly white. We like to praise, raise our hands, dance, run, jump. We like to see that when we sing,” said music minister Brandon Frazier.

For a third year, Frazier and his 70-voice choir will compete in the How Sweet the Sound nationwide competition, which is looking to crown the best church choir in America.

The choir is no stranger to the competition. They entered on a whim in 2008, and won $10,000. So they came back the following year — better, stronger, and more experienced.

“We won again, people choice and best large. Went to [the] finale in Detroit in 2009. We won everything, people choice and best overall choir. How sweet the sound,” said Frazier.
