Gospel Music Artist Marvin Sapp Loses Wife to Cancer

Marvin and MaLinda Sapp

Marvin Sapp lost his wife, MaLinda Sapp, this morning (September 9th) to cancer. Please pray for him, his children and his entire family during this difficult time. I recently read somewhere that Marvin and his wife had known each other since grade school and had been married for 15 years. They have young children so it makes it particularly hard.

This is a tough post to write and words are kind of failing me right now. I know the pain and devastation of losing someone so dear to you–whether it’s because of cancer or otherwise.

There is peace in knowing that there is no more suffering. Please pray for the family.

Just heard Wess Morgan’s ‘I Choose To Worship’ on Praise 92.1….very cool

After taking the kiddies to school this morning I was pleasantly surprised to hear Gospel song “I Choose To Worship” by Wess Morgan during the Yolanda Adams Morning show segment on Praise 92.1. Maybe they’ve played it before but it’s my first time hearing it on there.

It’s a great song and I predict it’s going to be popular within the Gospel music community and beyond. It is currently #5 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Songs chart. The song is going to be on the upcoming CD entitled Under An Open Heaven.

His testimony of being totally delivered from a 15 year cocaine habit is touching the hearts of people all over the world. I think his transparency, honesty and excitement about what God has done for him will help a lot of people.

I love his transparency and excitement about what God has done for him. His honesty about what he has gone through with drugs can’t help but help others that are struggling. And it doesn’t have to be drugs–we all struggle with something. His story is one of God’s faithfulness and unconditional love.
