Highly Anticipated Gospel Music CD From 2009 Sunday Best Winner Y’Anna Crawley Now Available For Purchase

According to Y’Anna’s website, the love she has for music and God’s people is what keeps her motivated and dedicated to her gift.  A graduate from Eastern Senior High School in Washington, DC, Y’Anna has always known she wanted to record, perform and minister in song to the world.

A single of mother of two boys Y’Anna knows the importance of balancing a life and career. She’s most humbled and appreciative for the new opportunities that being the second season winner of BET’S Sunday Best has brought to her and her family.  “This is a great time to be a part of BET and the Gospel music industry.  While BET is revamping their network programming and Gospel music is being played on even more formats around the country, I can’t help but be ecstatic about where God is gonna take me next!”

I know I’m excited about Y’Anna’s new CD! She was a lot of fun to watch during her run on BET’s Sunday Best and her CD is full of the talent, passion and sassiness that we saw during her performances on the show. You can listen to the entire CD before you buy over at BET. My favorite Gospel songs on the album are “Lookin’ Towards Heaven”, “Grandma’s Hands” and “You’re Still God”.

I’m really happy for the success of Al Mac Will!  I wrote a post about her and her Urban Country Gospel Music back in August of last year. It’s great to see that her unique Gospel sound is being embraced by so many. She is currently up for first round Stellar Award voting consideration in Category #6 for New Artist of the Year.

Urban Country Gospel Music is certainly a new term for a lot of Gospel music listeners. According to Al Mac Will’s website, it is defined as “passion, inspiration, triumph, tribulation, and rejuvenation brilliantly intertwined to create the smooth sound “Urban Country Gospel” which combines the best elements of Gospel, Country, R&B and Pop. A unique musical combination of gentle funk with a driving but subtle bass beat; the twang of a sweet pedal steel guitar and a groove that’s new, yet familiar”.

I look forward to hearing more of Al Mac Will’s brand of Gospel music. Be sure to check out her performance of Gospel song “Can You Hear Me Now?” on the 30th season of BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel.
