CeCe Winans Uses Free Gospel Sundays To Reach Believers & Non-Believers
Gospel Music Artist CeCe Winans To Headline Gospel Music Concert in Miami

Free Gospel Sundays at Miami’s Arsht Center are geared for those that believe and those that don’t.
“We want to open up the great performances that are occurring every Sunday in churches to the rest of the community, which might not otherwise experience it,” said Ricky Arriola, chairman of the board of directors for the performing arts center’s trust.
While upcoming concerts will feature gospel music artists Richard Smallwood, the Canton Spirituals, and Vanessa Bell Armstrong, this Sunday’s October 25th concert features popular artist CeCe Winans. CeCe will be singing with the choir from Cooper Temple Church of God in Christ and Free Gospel Sundays Mass Choir.
“I want people to experience the spirit,” Winans said in an interview to promote her concert on Sunday at Miami’s Arsht Center.
She further described being “a vessel for good news” as an “awesome responsibility,” especially now, in trying times. “The need for what I do is at an all-time high,” she said.
The catch is that being known for religious music can actually shrink a singer’s potential audience. Winans identified this as a problem of the industry — the record executives, radio programmers and concert promoters who tend to wall off gospel from secular music. She said their collective attitude is, “If you’re labeled ‘gospel music’ only believers want to listen to you.”
The tickets for CeCe Winans been sold out, but tickets for the remaining gospel music concerts are still available. Free tickets can be reserved at Arscht Center.
