GospelMusicChannel.com has also assembled an editorial staff that ranks as the most experienced and plugged-in team of journalists covering the Gospel/Christian music scene. The editorial team’s members – Deborah Evans-Price (country reporter), Andy Argyrakis (rock reporter), Christa Banister (pop/contemporary reporter) and Lisa Collins (soul/gospel reporter) — have played key roles in launching music and entertainment web sites; worked with companies including CCM Magazine, Gaylord Entertainment, Warner Brothers, EMI, Universal and all the major Christian music labels; and covered gospel/Christian music for publications such as Billboard, Country Weekly, CMA Close Up, Christian Single, BMI Music World, Radio & Records, the Chicago Tribune and others.
Charles Humbard, founder and president, GMC commented, “We have added layers of even more exciting, state-of-the-art and informative content and assembled an editorial team of the top reporters, writers and experts in Gospel/Christian music who will cover the industry like a blanket. These deep developments will further reinforce GospelMusicChannel.com’s stature as the must-stop, first-stop for passionate gospel and Christian music fans.”
In March of this year, GMC re-launched GospelMusicChannel.com with an array of interactive features including e-commerce elements, artist blogs and improved inter-linking from artist names and web sites to GMC’s on-air program guide. The site also supports GMC’s original programming with bonus video, contests and other compelling content.
The 2008 Gospel Dream Winner is Melinda Watts
“He said I haven’t forgotten you. I haven’t forgotten your prayers. I haven’t forgotten your commitment to Me. I haven’t forgotten your faithfulness to what I’ve asked you to do and be. I’m going to reward you.”-Melinda Watts on what God told her about following her dreams
Melinda Watts-’Tis So Sweet
Melinda Watts wowed the audience and the judges with her beautiful and sincere performances. I enjoyed the entire show! All the contestants were on fire and the judges had a tough time picking the winner.
Some highlights for me:
Melinda’s interpretation of “You Are Good”. She did a great job with making the song her own. I hear this a lot at church and it was great to hear it sung in a different way.
John McKoy’s heartfelt rendition of “Running Back To You”, which he ended on his knees. I really liked him singing Fred Hammond’s “Jesus Be A Fence” also.
Kymm Lowery’s energetic performance of Martha Munizzi’s “Glorious”. It was funny when Big Jim Wright decided to tease his fellow judge, Martha Munizzi, by saying, “You know I never really like that song.” Everyone got a big chuckle out of that.
All in all it was a great show and I look forward to the next one. Great job everyone! Visit Gospel Music Channel for more information.

Gospel Dream Finalists
“God’s grace brought me here to Gospel Dream! A lot of faith in God and remembering that it’s okay to dream even when you feel you can’t.”-Gospel Dream finalist Kymm Lowery
The finale for Gospel Music Channel’s Gospel Dream contest will be on Sunday night at 9 pm ET. The winner will receive a record and music video deal and a Royal Caribbean Cruise. I’ve been watching and it’s been a great show so far. The judges are J. Moss, Martha Munizzi, and Big Jim Wright.
The judges have been pretty tough on the contestants, and the discussions between them to pick who goes home have been pretty funny. I still struggle with critiquing Gospel music performances because I think the performance is all about the sincerity of the heart, but I have enjoyed this show.
