Sunday Best’s First Gospel Music Auditions in Nigeria A Big Success
BET marked its one-year celebration on Dstv (the digital satellite television platform on which BET is seen in Africa) with a unique opportunity.
There was an open call to the most talented gospel music singers in Nigeria to audition for a chance to be on BET’s hit competition series, Sunday Best.
The country of Nigeria enthusiastically answered the call as more than 1,000 hopefuls showed up to the Eko Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria to audition.

Muyiwa Olarewaju
Gospel artist Kirk Franklin was joined by guest judges gospel music artists Donnie McClurkin, Kim Burrell and British-Nigerian gospel music artist Muyiwa Olarewaju. The guest judges will choose who will travel to the United States to compete on the third season of Sunday Best.

Sunday Best Season Three Auditions Begin in Nigeria
Sunday Best’s Third Season Begins in Africa
According to The Gospel According To Torrence, the popular gospel singing competition, Sunday Best, is back for its third season. For the first time throughout the series, auditions are being extended to Lagos, Nigeria. Sunday Best producers along with celebrity judges will select one contestant from Nigeria to compete in the gospel music competition.
Audition Info:
Who: Singers 21 or over, interested in being the next “Sunday Best” winner
When: December 6, 2009, doors open at 10 a.m.*
Where: Eko Hotels and Suites
Kuramo Waters, Victoria Island
Lagos, Nigeria
*Doors open at 10 a.m. Doors close at noon. The first 1000 contestants will be seen. You must be age 21 or older to audition and have government-issued form of identification.
