2. Tabernacle of Faith Church is holding “Youth Empowerment Conference 2008” from July 16th–20th in Winston-Salem. Minister and Gospel music recording artist Deitrick Haddon will be in attendance on Friday, July 18th.~Conference

3. Union Baptist Church in Winston-Salem has mid-day jazz gatherings for business professionals to network, fellowship and receive inspiration. Not exactly Gospel music but…………… "relaxation with the sounds of jazz" sounds kinda cool. Ya think?~Christian Business and Professional Gathering

The 2008 Gospel Dream Winner is Melinda Watts

Melinda Watts-’Tis So Sweet

Melinda Watts wowed the audience and the judges with her beautiful and sincere performances. I enjoyed the entire show! All the contestants were on fire and the judges had a tough time picking the winner.

Some highlights for me:
Melinda’s interpretation of “You Are Good”. She did a great job with making the song her own. I hear this a lot at church and it was great to hear it sung in a different way.

John McKoy’s heartfelt rendition of “Running Back To You”, which he ended on his knees. I really liked him singing Fred Hammond’s “Jesus Be A Fence” also.

Kymm Lowery’s energetic performance of Martha Munizzi’s “Glorious”. It was funny when Big Jim Wright decided to tease his fellow judge, Martha Munizzi, by saying, “You know I never really like that song.” Everyone got a big chuckle out of that.
