Gospel Music News-Soweto Gospel Choir, Southern Baptist Convention, Beverly Crawford
1. South Africa’s Soweto Gospel Choir will be in concert Saturday at The Paramount Theater in Charlottesville. The choir has won Grammy Awards for Best Traditional World Music Album for 2006 and 2007.~Newsleader
2. Leaders of the Georgia Baptist Convention have rejected funds from First Baptist Church of Decatur because they appointed a woman as senior pastor. Apparently the church is “not in cooperation and harmony” with the Southern Baptist Convention’s rules and regulations. To me this is backward thinking. We are all trying to advance the cause of Christ.~Christian Post
3. We complain a lot here in the States about our cars, school, homes, or our trinkets, but for a lot of people being able to eat is all that matters.~"If you rest, you starve."
4. Beverly Crawford has been named National Spokesperson for Literacy.~The Black Gospel Blog
